Price was 664.12. I've had this receiver for 3 days now and so far i'm blown away. I've had harman kardon receivers until now and this was a huge upgrade for me. The sound is amazing and the setup was very easy.

A great surround sound stereo receiver. We use it to listen to music and watch movies. The sound is phenomenal. The only downside is there doesn't seem to be way to adjust the bass. Love the many features of this receiver. The look and finish is super nice, the satin black finish looks terrific. Being able to wireless-ly play music from my iphone, ipad or laptop is very handy. Especially for parties or when having some company over. The power is a near perfect match for my klipsch rp series speakers. Tons of features, you just can't go wrong here. -O. Colleen

Mediabridge Banana Plugs - Corrosion-Resistant 24K Gold-Plated Connectors - 7 Pair/14 Banana Plugs Part SPC-BP2-7

Somehow i have never heard of this company until just last month. I was putting together a new audio system, and picked up some 14 gauge wire off online store made by mediabridge. When i got it i flipped through the brochure and found the company's statement regarding being dedicated to quality at reasonable prices. I'll admit, i rolled my eyes thinking it was just more marketing speak. But after using the cables (including resistance and inductance measurements), i was impressed. . What i was less impressed with were the big-name banana plugs i had bought to terminate the cables. So, i figured i would try out the mediabridge version and see if the speaker cable was a quality fluke. I'm happy to say i was not disappointed. Compared to the big-name banana plugs i got, well, there really is no comparison. As with the cables, i measured resistance/capacitance/inductance on the wires after having the banana plugs installed, and also measured resistance directly at my speakers and then with the mediabridge banana plugs/wires connected, and am very pleased with the results. This company is now on my go-to list for quality products. . Included photo shows plugs while using aforementioned 14 gauge wire. As you can see, they have plenty of space left if you wanted to run bigger wiring.

Mediabridge Banana Plugs Corrosion Resistant Gold Plated (spc bp2 7) FAQ.

These banana plugs are very short, they have o-rings and the "red and black" are rubber. These are quality banana plugs! . When i made up my speaker wires. Mark down on each side of the speaker wire 4" and then slide some "shrink-tubing" down on the speaker wire. Now put the "shrink tubing" at the 4" mark and heat it up so it shrinks tightly around the wire. Now you will be able to split the wire for the positive and negative and it will prevent the speaker wire from separating more than the 4" and will have a place to put colored electrical tape. Note: i used shrink tubing, but if you don't have any (found at auto supply and harbor freight) i think just the electrical tape would suffice. -Notice from Y. Peggy, Northumberland

Had the open banana plugs from mono price and these are made better. The monoprice ones were frustrating because the bottoms would not screw all the way down to the base, seat and pinch the wire because the colored plastic bushings (black and red) between the screw base and the tip were too thick, so they had to be removed making it hard to identify which was the lead and ground wires. These work so much more reliably and the design is better.

- P. AnonymousI've been using banana plugs from another popular manufacturer for years, but i've experienced issues with loose connections over the years. Sometimes the wire slips out of the plug, and sometimes the plug slips out of the connector. This is atypical of my experience with products from this other manufacturer, but i finally decided to do some research and see if there was a better product out there. . These mediabridge plugs came highly recommended, so i figured i'd give them a shot. Right off the bat, i have found the design to be much better than that of the plugs i was previously using. There is a nice gap between where you splay the individual copper wires and where you screw the cap on, which makes it easy to have a good wire splay and still get the cap back on. Also, instructions are included with these plugs- more helpful than you might realize, as i had to do some digging to figure out how to use the plugs from the other manufacturer. Finally, these plugs are pretty short, which is useful for wall-mounting purposes. Overall, i think these plugs are very well-designed, and i hope their longevity matches their design.

I'm no audiophile or expert on banana plugs, but these appear to be very well made at any price point, but especially at this price point. The first thing i noticed upon taking them out of the package was how heavy they are - they're definitely made of some solid metal, and they have a very nice feel to them that screams "quality". The packaging was top notch as well, with each plug in it's own little plastic holder so that they all stay in place and don't bang into one another. Not that it would matter, they're solid and would not be damaged easily. But it still shows some care went into them. . As for "installation" - it was clear and easy. I bought a six pack for the hand full of speakers i have, making it convenient to switch them in and out whenever i want. My only regret is that i didn't get these years ago.

LG Electronics OLED65B6P Flat 65-Inch 4K Ultra HD Smart OLED TV 2016 Model

I'm upgrading from a 55in curved oled (55ec9300) that i bought early 2015. This tv is much better. The difference between 2k (1080p) and 4k is not night and day, but viewing hdr content is (depending on the scene). I originally only had netflix to try out. Netflix 4k content does immediately appear better looking than 2k content, but that is a little deceiving because it is their streaming algorithm that is fooling you. 2k content starts out streaming at less than 720p and then slowly steps up the bitrate until it hits 1080p at 5mbps. 4k content starts streaming at 1080p! then slowly steps up to 4k. I verified this using one of netflix's test videos that show the bitrate/resolution in real time. Once the bitrate maxes out, 4k netflix does still look a bit better than 2k netflix, but i think 2k blu ray is still better than 4k netflix in any fast-moving picture simply because of the increased bitrate. But what about 4k blu ray? . . I received my xbox one s a few days later and got star trek into darkness on 4k blu ray, and wow! this movie has some scenes filmed in imax that are shown in 16:9 aspect ratio. They look spectacular! you've never experience jj abrams lens flair until you see it in hdr; when contrasted in dark scenes, it practically blinds you! if you're not ready to get a 4k blu ray player, go watch the do-over on netflix. That has dolby vision. There is a scene in a basement where the light is very bright against a dark surrounding. It looks awesome on this tv. The direct light makes it hard for your eyes to adjust to the dark surrounding, which is exactly how it would be in reality. I can't wait for more hdr content to come out. . I tried out a few pc games to see what 4k was like. That is definitely night and day compared to 2k. With games, there is zero compression being done, so the bitrate is simply what is traveling over the hdmi cable (10+gigabits per second). However, i have a low-latency gaming monitor, which i still prefer to this, although i'm very picky about latency in games. . In summary, 4k is a nice upgrade but not always noticeably better. Hdr on the other hand, is immediately noticeable. If you're new to oled and currently running an led-backlit tv, this will be a massive upgrade for you. With hdr just being released, this is a great model year to get a new tv. For oled, we're going to be looking at minor incremental updates for few years (increased brightness, better processing) until a new, must-have feature comes out, so now is the time to buy. . One more thing, to curve or not to curve? after owning both, i'm torn. - reflections: this flat screen reflects light much clearer than a curved screen. The curve can pull in more light, but it also bounces it out in more directions. If there are any light sources behind you, a curved screen will be better. If there are light sources to the side of you, a flat screen will be better. - viewing: it is annoying to watch a curved screen from off axis since the left and right side distort. However, if you usual sit dead center, it will look better since the sides will be less distorted. - aesthetics: curved looks cool, but i think the most impressive part of these oled tvs is the thinness, and the tv being flat shows off the thinness much better.

Lg Electronics Oled65b6p Flat 65-inch 4k Ultra Hd Smart Oled Tv 2016 Model (Television) FAQ.

As a big follower of oled technology for several years now, i was almost 100% sure that i was going to buy the ef9500, which i almost did during the holiday season of 2015. But like any electronic, the most important question to ask is "will it worth it to just wait until next year? ". This question kept me curious to wait until ces 2016 just to see if lg had anything really worthy up their sleeves. Turned out that lg did have something worthwhile to show to the electronic world with the new 2016 signature line of oled tvs. Although nothing would make me happier than having a 65" oled of my own right now, patience for the right tv has kept me from making an $10, 000 investment in oled a few years ago when the technology was just taking baby steps. Patience is also what's going to get me a great deal on a 2016 oled this holiday season. Along with the rest of the 2016 signature oleds (g6, e6, b6, c6 all share the same video processor and specs), the b6 oled is on the "lower end" and a great combination between 2016 oled technology and cost. These are the oleds you've been waiting for, and if you were on the fence on just buying an older model for a steep discount, allow me to explain why i feel its worth the wait to buy a 2016 oled instead. . I have looked into specs for both the 2016 and the 2015 lineup, and it all boils down to one simple question. For the price (above $2, 999), am i getting a tv that is future proof? when the ef9500 was released, no one can deny that it wasn't amazing to look at. Compared to the eg9600, it got rid of the curved screen, and it included all three hdmi 2. 0a & hdcp2. 2 ports that would allow for uhd hdr content through hdmi (not just apps) which made me feel like it was future proofed at the time. Then the price dropped from $6, 999 to $5, 999, to $4, 999, (i've even seen the 65eg9600 for $3500 on ebay as a daily deal) so i was tempted to buy and came close. So why should you wait to buy the b6 instead? simply put, the oled technology in the ef9500 (also eg9600) will not be able to keep up with uhd players and uhd content hitting the market in the coming years in terms of ability, and in terms of the level of maturity in the oled technology itself. . To further elaborate on the subject, as another reviewer for the g6 2016 oled did, as another reviewer did i'd like to refer to a great article from tvevaluate. Com with did have some great comparisons between the 2015 (ef9500, eg9600) and 2016 lineup (g6, e6, b6, c6) to help explain what the ef9500 can't do well. I also have added some information on hdr, hdmi 20a, and brightness comparisons that i found out through research as well. Keep in mind the b6 is the only model without 3d if that's important to you. . 1) the 2016 oled lineup features colorprime pro technology allowing them to display 99% of the dci-p3 expanded range of colors for better true to cinema visuals. The ef9500 and eg9600 models only cover less than 90% of dci-p3 which affects their abilities to truly recreate cinema type visuals and colors. Blacks are still on par and similar on all models. . 2) the 2016 signature models meet the criteria for ultra hd premium which requires at least a 540 nits peak brightness and less than 0. 0005 nits black level. On the other hand on some calibration tests the ef9500 and eg9600 could be pushed to the upper 370 nit level range, but still not on par with the 2016 lineup. Brightness levels may not come close to some 2015-2016 tv models from other reputable brands such as sony and samsung which can reach close to 1000 nits or even more. However, lg's oled's ability to decrease black levels in individual pixels to virtually off levels while displaying rich and vibrant color images creates enough of an image contrast to create superb hdr images and video. Athough hdr was added by a firmware upgrade on the ef9500 and eg9600 models, the increase in brightness in the 2016 signature lineup and wider dci-p3 color range of 99% changes hdr and uhd video on an lg oled from a gimmick, to a industry competitor. . 3) speaking of hdr and keeping up with future standards, one of the reasons i held out on oleds each year was the eventual introduction of hdmi 2. 0a & hdcp2. 2. Originally, 4k content was possible with the older hdmi 1. 4 but only at 24-30fps. Hdmi 2. 0 then came out and has become a standard on all 4k tv's which allowed 4k content to be played seamlessly at 50-60fps. Then out of nowhere, this thing called hdmi 2. 0a and hdcp2. 2 becomes a standard, and older (and still very decent) 4k tv's became outdated. What is hdmi 2. 0a? it's the ability for uhd content to display content in hdr. Hdcp2. 2 is the copy prevention technology standard moving forward to prevent illegal copying of 4k content. If your tv doesn't have hdcp2. 2 embedded into it's connection, (even if it had the ability to) your content will not play to its full potential. As stated before, through a firmware update the 2015 eg9600 was able to play hdr content but only through the third party applications like online store, netflix, hulu, etc. The hdmi ports were all 2. 0 and not hdcp 2. 2 which meant future uhd players with the ability to play content in hdr would not work through hdmi. The ef9500 came out later in the year and actually included all three hdmi 2. 0a/hdcp 2. 2 ports. The 2016 lineup includes a total of 3 (the more expensive g6 model has 4) hdmi ports all of which are hdmi 2. 0a and hdcp 2. 2 compliant. The difference with the 2016 models is that they don't just display hdr, they execute it well. Simply having the hdmi port doesn't mean anything is the design and ability of the tv can't showcase the content however. This is where the g6 and all the other 2016 oleds impress. The combination of the 2016 signature lineup's increased brightness and color range, creates a new level of vibrancy and authenticity to uhd video content. These improved capabilities have also made the 2016 signature lineup compliant with hdr (high dynamic range), hdr10 (2015 ef/eg are not compliant), and dolby vision formats (2015 ef/eg are not compliant). These are all important standards of uhd that netflix, online store, and movie studios are incorporating into movies and tv shows that are available now, and in the future. Gizmondo wrote a great article on the comparison and extremely improved visuals of netflix's daredevil with hdr (dolby vision to be exact) on a 2016 oled when compared to the 4k tv he already had, which just means i'm going to rewatch both seasons when i do get the tv :-). . 4) lastly, from looking up many forums and researching oleds the past few years, the issue of oled technology maturity have been an issue for previous models. This has been apparent for 2015 models with issues such as vignetting, banding, blobs of color on screen, edge lighting issues, simply not working at all, and more. Though these issues have been worked on as the newer ef9500 sets hit the market (serial numbers starting with 505 were first i believe, up to 511 or 512 by now), they are still issues that one has to consider when buying this tv. Because the 2016 are a year older, lg had another year to refine these issues (which they did). Though the percentage is low on people who had these issues, those that did required moderate to extensive repairs which is not a problem when under warranty, but a problem once you're out of the initial 1 year period. . Between the comparison of 2015 and the 2016 lineup, and keeping in mind the progress made in the last few years to elevate 4k content and uhd content, i realized that a shift was made in the entertainment industry from not only focusing on acquiring a higher resolution (4k), but to display video content to near flawless levels. The goal being to bring you elevated visuals straight from the imagination of movie makers, directors, etc. In a manner that balances fluidity, contrast, and color. This is where hdr comes in. And why is hdr so important? because hdr is like a composer that pushes every visual component of your tv to play gorgeous and fluid visuals. It brings out light where it needs it, pushes black where it should be, and coordinates the color spectrum in an image with an end result that can be described as "balanced, natural, and life-like". The future of tv is not just about the higher resolution, but about what's behind that resolution. The downfall with the ef9500 (and the eg9600 for that matter) is that what it visually displays, it does it well, but where it matters in regards to uhd hdr, hdr10, and dolby vision, "well" won't cut it in the near future. Though the improved color range is noticeable if you pay attention to the details, the improved brightness levels of the 2016 models really give uhd hdr content justice. Brightness levels are critical to the future of hdr, and though not as bright as other samsung, vixio, sony models etc. , the 2016 models with up to 600 nits of brightness and their ability to turn individual pixels completely off, are truly the first lg models that are competitive in terms of hdr quality. For those still on the fence on whether or not to go 2016, i suggest finding an in store display 65g6 from one of the available locations on lg's website (i went to a best buy in los angeles) and see the comparison for yourself. To me, these differences were apparent, and if the content is hdr capable the distinctions were even larger. . So what in particular is different with the b6 compared to the other models? along with the c6 curved version, the b6 includes a 40w sound system, and is flat in shape. Unlike the higher end, more expensive g6 and e6 models which have a distinguishable "screen on glass" look which is only a few credit cards deep, the b6 and c6 have backing more comparable to the 2015 models and 1. 9 inches deep. So why go with a b6 model instead? the real benefit is cost. Currently a 65 in msrp is $5, 999 for a b6 model, the same as the higher up e6 65 in model on sale (regular msrp is $6, 999). If last years trends continue onto this year, we can shortly expect a $1, 000 price cut on the current price, and up to a $2, 000 cut by christmas dropping this model between the 4-5k price which would be a great value. Since all the 2016 models have the same video specs, paying 1k or more just for the outer aesthetic look of the tv may not be worth it for some. And as i mentioned with the e6 model, the upper end g6 and e6 models put those with dedicated surround sound systems and audiophiles in a bit of a bind. This is because the e6 and g6 models have a built in sound bar by harmon which is attached and can t be removed from the tv. For me, i already have a sound bar under where my tv is mounted, so an additional soundbar under the tv itself would look tacky i would imagine. The featured pics are of the g6 which show the soundbar, also the pics show what the b6 video display looks like since its the same tech. This lack of a built in soundbar in my opinion is a benefit for the b6 and c6 models. Lastly, unlike the rest of the models, the b6 is the only model without 3d capabilities. This may not be a deal breaker for many since 3d is a dying trend, but for me with many 3d movies, this news was a deal breaker for me and had to default to the e6 since i m not a fan of curved. . This year, lg was able to break the standard of what a home oled tv can really do. I am choosing the 65e6 oled tv for my household because for the price, you're not just paying for a tv that looks good, you want a tv that hits a homerun for everything. Because in that case, there are plenty of television larger than 65" and cheaper than $3, 000 that can make current bluray hd content look "good to great". But unlike the transition from dvd to bluray, bluray to uhd standards now go above simply reaching a desired resolution and are now focusing on how that content is being visually displayed. Every 4k television before 2015 attempted a guess at what the future of tv would hold, but very few were future-proofed for what is yet to come in the next five years. So take it from someone who has been price checking and following oleds for years, the 2016 lg oled lineup successfully achieves the perfect balance between, oled maturity, technological ability, and price that i and many others have long been waiting for. So if the price hasn't stopped you and you want the very best, look no further than the 2016 oled lineup. . Update 04/13/16- i have recently come across a cnet article which goes over hdr10 and dolby vision hdr more in depth, and i want to share some information for those on the fence of buying a new tv of any brand in the next coming months. When the signature line was announced, lg stated that their 2016 oled signature line was both hdr10 and dolby vision capable, this i thought had more to do with capability rather than actual hardware. As the cnet article explained, vizio and lg are the only major tv brands at this time to support both hdr10 and dolby vision hdr on their newer tv's (vizio will add hdr10 through a firmware update). However, samsung and sony have pledged support for only hdr10. Unlike hdr10 which can be downloaded through a firmware update, dolby vision is only capable in tv's that have their dolby vision chip imbedded inside the processor of the tv. Which means that is your tv isn't dolby vision capable from the beginning, it won't ever be. At this time, all 4k hdr blurays are hdr10 and all uhd 4k players are also hdr10, with neither supporting dolby vision at this time. However, most of the dolby vision content is coming from online streaming from netflix, hulu, online store, and vudu to name a few. As the cnet article also explains, dolby vision and hdr10 act differently on how the video content will be displayed in hdr, with some studios, directors, and producers showing a preference for dolby vision for some content, and hdr10 for other content. From what netflix and online store have explained, shows that are hdr capable may be available in either hdr format which means that your tv or the streaming service will choose whichever hdr format looks best on your tv, or whichever they are only capable of. If a show was made in dolby vision and not in hdr 10 however, you're out of luck if its not an lg or vizio. From what the article explained hdr10 is open format which means more user friendly, but the hdr settings are static and don't change throughout the movie/tv show whereas dolby vision might take some more time to work with, but it has the ability to adjust hdr from frame to frame which sounds great. Dolby vision is also heavily backed by google if that means something. Either way, hdr10 and dolby vision are just becoming known by most people, but it's important for those on the fence for either an lg, vizio, samsung, sony, or other to know what their tv is actually capable of before buying and make sure they understand what their tv is, or isn't capable of. -Notice from S. The picture on this tv is amazing, but right out of the box the picture needs to be calibrated. I recommend changing your picture settings to "expert dark" and turn off trumotion to get rid of the soap opera effect. There are plenty of places online to fine tune your tv's calibration, but the first two steps above will help tremendously. Of course, getting this professionally done will probably be the best option. . Note, if you add an xbox one s and want to enjoy hdr on games like gears of war 4 and forza horizon 3, you need to go into general settings and turn on hdmi ultra hd deep color to the hdmi input you're connected to. Hdr only auto detects when you stream from the built in apps on the tv. It's unfortunate that the tv doesn't have this turned on by default. I feel a lot of people will miss out on the beauty of hdr. It truly is amazing.

- Z. MargueriteWarning: this is not an entry-level tv. If you are looking for something you can plug in and not worry about, don't even bother. . Note: lg has confirmed that this is the exact same display used on all of lg's more expensive oled tvs. The differences are cosmetic, glass screen cover as opposed to plastic, and 3d capability (which is already dying the death it deserves). The only possible difference in performance is the glass screen cover, but it some cases that can actually be worse, but we're getting far into the videophile and "i didn't even know that was a thing" levels of difference. Effectively this tv is the same as the much more expensive models. So if you are here wondering what the difference is and what this tv is missing that makes it thousands of dollars less expensive, it's basically gold trim and a glass screen that 99. 9999% of people won't be able to tell the difference on. . If you are looking at a tv and have the money to seriously consider an oled, stop what you're doing and go to the nearest big box store and look at one of these things. I mean seriously look at one of them. Adjust the color settings in the store (they never do that properly in a store) and look at it compared to a back-lit lcd tv. The difference is massive. Plain and simple, no better picture is available on the market today than lg's oled offering. Period. People who come over and watch it are blown away. . The advertisement that shows on this page is actually pretty informative and not overblown. Oleds are individually lit and colored, so you get true blacks and no back-light wash that you get with any led tv. Lg's default screen saver actually does a really good job of showing off its color range compared against a true black contrast. I'm typing this on a computer that has a $600 "gaming" monitor that is of exceptional quality, and the difference between my black desktop background and the one on the tv is night and day. . If you are a gamer, this is by far the best tv you can buy for one simple reason: response time. As a pc gamer, that is one of the most important things you can look for in a monitor. Response time is basically how long it takes for your input to be shown on the screen. Gaming monitors on pc will be 1-2 ms response time, for example, so the time between you moving your mouse and that movement showing on the monitor is effectively unnoticeable. Tvs unfortunately have a major problem they can't overcome to get their response time that low: size. It takes time to process and send a signal to all of the leds. The bigger the tv, the worse this generally is. Tv response times are usually in the 60-100 range, and are very noticeable if you are used to a computer monitor. However, this tv is clocking at around 35ms response time, which is phenomenal for a tv this size (both the 55 and 65 had similar response times). It appears that oled tvs just naturally have a better response time, so if you want the best tv with the best gaming specs on the market, this is it. . Last years models (2015) had some legitimate complaints about brightness when watching in a well-lit room. I can say with the utmost confidence that this generation of lg oleds has solved that problem - though it will take some adjusting on your part. . Now, there is some pain that comes with these tvs, and they aren't for the faint of heart nor light of wallet. First and foremost, they are expensive. Oled technology is dominantly used in smart phones and takes up most of the production cycle lg has access to. Beyond that, the technology is just naturally expensive to produce. So buying this tv will hurt your wallet. I got mine in "like new" condition from a reseller on online store and it came in factory packaging for more than 25% off the new price, and it was still more expensive than any other tv anyone i know owns, and i have a few friends with more money than sense. . Next, the tv will absolutely require calibration to your environment. This is something that should be done with every tv, but a good calibration is especially important with oled tvs. You can look this up online, look for the optimal settings all you want. I will warn you right now, you will get deep down into the videophile rabbit hole and come out of it looking for professional calibration services because screw all that noise. For some people, paying someone to calibrate your tv is the right choice. Ultimately what i did was get the color to where i liked it (wide gamut) and set the gamma to where i liked it (bt. 1886), and then made other adjustments that are environment dependent using the 'expert (bright room)' picture mode as a starting point. Oled light (85), contrast (90), and brightness (56) will all vary based on your environment and your eyes. How i got those settings was watching a show on netlix with letterbox bars, paused it on a dark scene, and adjusted it to where i could see detail in shadows without causing the letterbox bars to start to change to gray. It took me about a week of watching various shows and movies to get it right. . Now, there are some negatives to this tv, but if you go into purchasing it completely informed and accept those negatives, they don't detract from the score as they don't really detract from the experience offered. . First negative is webos. I'm sorry, but it sucks. It has little to no third-party support, and you'll be using a chromecast or roku to get a lot of your content outside of the big streaming services (netflix, hulu, online store). Now, that's completely fine since i knew about that and wanted to upgrade to the 4k chromecast that i use for other things anyways. So while webos is a negative, if you're informed about it, you can make a decision. If you only care about watching anime on crunchyroll, just know that they don't have a webos 3. 0 app and you'll need a chromecast. Lg would much better serve their customers by going with android since it has much better third party support. I get that they purchased webos and want to make their money off of it, but it really wasn't the most customer-centric decision. . Second negative is the light band. Nearly every oled screen in existence has these, and they aren't very noticeable once you get your settings right, and they will only be seen when on letterbox bars and particularly dark scenes. These screens have what's called a burn-in period, and, in most cases, after that period the band will fade to being barely noticeable. Mine is already starting to fade after just a few weeks of casual use. While it technically a negative, it should be expected and you should know how to deal with it going into purchasing an oled tv. . Third negative is the remote, and it really is the biggest one. Initially i thought it was really cool, it's bluetooth, has an accelerometer that allows you to use the remote like a pointer which is handy in a lot of cases. However, you can't adjust how or when that feature is triggered, and it is seemingly random how much movement is required to bring up the pointer. Sometimes simply picking up the remote to change the volume will trigger the pointer. Other times i can walk the remote across the room and it won't come up. It's also not completely intuitive, since it isn't an ir pointer, whatever orientation you are to the tv is how the remote measures movement. This results in some awkward use of the feature trying to position the pointer, and i often ended up turning off the pointer holding the remote in a deliberate position, and triggering the pointer manually with the scroll wheel on the remote. The single biggest annoyance, however, is to get the pointer to go away you have to function another button, which in any of the built-in apps cause any of a number of things to happen. Ultimately this is just an annoyance that takes getting used to, but the poor implementation of what should be something really cool is a problem. Unfortunately, the feature can't be disabled. I really hope lg fixes this in a future update (luckily software updates can address this issue) as it is the only thing i even considered taking a star off for. . There are many features i don't personally care for and i just turn off, like tru-motion (lg's name for the software that is on every smart tv anymore that causes that "soap-opera" effect). Tru-motion actually can cause headaches and nausea in some people. My advice is to turn it off anyways, a lot of older shows will look terrible with it on. However, it is a feature that can be disabled, so i won't take points off for something i can disable. . Despite webos and the stupid remote (it's not even close to "magic", lg), this tv is still the best one i've ever had. The picture alone is mind blowing and worth every penny and minute of effort you will spend learning and adjusting this tv.

At first i was worried about getting an oled due to a few bad reviews but i took a leap of and oh boy i am happy i did. I am absolutely star struck by this lg oled set. The picture is out of this world due its infinite contrast ratio a deep dark blacks which make the colors pop richly without the non-saturated color look. I previously owned a samsung ks8500 tv but i returned it due to its minor light bleeding issues. . Here's my review of the lg oled b6. . Gaming/input lag: i own a original xbox one console which is not capable of 4k/hdr this oled tv literally makes my xbox one games look more rich & vibrant with everything looking near 4k, i couldn't believe it. Since i previosuly owned a samsung ks8500 there was a good amount of detail present when i was playing games but on this oled lg set i noticed alot more detail i've never seen before. Don't get me wrong, the samsung ks8500 doesn't come close to being a bad tv, it was the light bleeding issues. I'm also a competitive gamer which means i like to have the edge over my competition. I play alot of fps shooters like cod and star wars battlefront but let me tell that the input lag is matched alongside the samsung ks8500 tv set. This was another reason i was afraid to buy an lg oled b6, but no everything has been beyond my expectations so far. I heard that you needed to download a firmware patch that lg made but for some odd reason i never saw a notification for downloading the patch. I assume that the patch downloaded itself when the tv booted up. 9/10. . Movies: this oled will not let you down at all, this is truly the ultimate movie experience. The oled is dolby certified so hopefully see some more dolby vision based content later down the road. I watched x-men apocalypse which is an hdr premium title. I sit approximately 7-8 ft away from the screen and i noticed little to no film grain when watching the movie with fun rich vibrant colors. I also decided to watch a 1080p title, i decided to watch spider-man 3. The movie looks amazing on this oled set although there is some realistic film grain here and there. I also found a feature on the tv where you can eliminate film noise so that you can get the best picture quality possible. It say the process takes 1 hour, i decided to try this feature and everything looks a bit more clean. 10/10. . Web browser: everything is working excellent with web browsing, everything works fast and efficient. You might be a bit disappointed that they may not have a few apps you're looking for, whatever they may be. The apps i use is hulu, vudu and netflix so i'm fully covered 8/10. . Component/inputs: this tv has 4 hdmi inputs and i was shocked not knowing this tv actually supported rca in, i was saving up to get a receiver due to this but i still need one because of my 5. 1 channel surround sound system. When you open up the brand new box you will notice two small 3-4 ft mini components cords which you can insert in the back of oled panel similar to a 3. 5mm jack. The first little bag will include a red/white/yellow mini component which you can use to hook up dvd players and classic gaming consoles. The second bag includes red/blue/green which can be used for anything 720p or above if you prefer not to use a hdmi. Just a reminder you will need to have the original component cable cords that came with your dvd player or classic gaming console so that you can insert the matching colors into the mini component cables. For me being upset thinking that the lg oled won't be rca component compatible really surprised me. The joke was on me! 10/10. . I think i covered everything so far but message me if you have any question!

Mediabridge Banana Plugs - Corrosion-Resistant 24K Gold-Plated Connectors - 12 Pair/24 Banana Plugs Part SPC-BP2-12

I often wonder why it took so long for this product to appear on the av scene, after all other av connections ( coax cable, rca ) have gone compression for the diy / pro installer, so why not banana plugs? i've tried the solder on kind ( a slow process and not easily removed ), the set screw kind, the pin in center kind, and the latter seem to fail you after the fact and result in call backs. But not these. The compression design ( strip about 1/4" lead, slip on the lower half of the connector, fray the wire out, slip on the upper and screw down tight and your done ) locks down the stranded speaker wire down tight, fine stranded wire or low stranded count. They simply do not let go. This should be a industry standard. Even best buy doesn't sell these connectors, and their offerings are far inferior. I initially bought a set to try out, one i did a small run of speaker wire jumpers from wall plate to a sub woofer. I was hooked and order much more to do a 7. 1 , 5. 1 and 6 speaker whole house audio's worth of speaker terminals. Not a failure in the group. The other thing worth mentioning is the fact that the "banana" part that sticks into wall plates and receiver or any speaker banana post is indeed strong. It doesn't cave in, bend or deflect. It also hold firm once inserted. The packaging is nice. Not loose in a baggy, but inside a molded plastic insert, arranged in pairs. I used to go to monoprice for my banana plugs, but no more. It's a shame, as now when doing my av installs i have to source parts from all over. But for these parts, i do not mind. Thank you for the talent that invented this product.

Mediabridge Banana Plugs Corrosion Resistant Gold Plated (spc bp2 12) FAQ.

Because of the way my avr is situated close to the wall, i needed something as low profile as possible to hook up my speakers. I had been using the older type plugs - both the ones with the screws and twist top - and in both cases they were much higher profile and protruded a good distance from the back of the avr when installed. . To remedy this, i purchased these banana plugs, and i am glad i did. These take a little extra work to carefully strip / expose the correct amount of strand, and then screw them together. However, once finished, they stay tight, and they insert into the speaker posts very securely. The older plugs i used would always loosen up over time and i had to keep checking the to make sure they were still tight. These have no way of loosening up, and stay as tight as the day you installed them. . I liked them so much, i outfitted them on all the speakers and avr's in other rooms also. After buying these i noticed that the local electronics shops are using these on the floor in their demo rooms to hook up speakers to the receivers. I asked the why, and they gave me the same reasons i bought them for my home! . . Highly recommended! thanks for reading. -Notice from Y. Brenda, Doncaster

- P. MaysI've never used a banana plug that i didn't like, and these don't disappoint. They are better, aesthetically, than a set of monster plugs that i currently use on the driver side connections. The photo i've included doesn't quite show them off very well, thanks to the tangled mess i've already got back there, and the fact that i didn't feel like pulling my avr out. I'd purchase these again. I used to prefer the plugs that require you to tighten two opposing set screws, but they're normally much smaller (which is probably great in some applications), and these screw-down type banana plugs give you great grip behind equipment.

For the price, it is totally worth it. The only other option would be hiring a pro and getting a crestron setup for a few grand. My friend has one and i prefer the simplicity of logitec. I set it up and had it running in 20 min. I have my tv on the first floor and all the av equipment in the basement. (stereo, blue ray, cable box, chromecase). I can now control everything with this remote, and it uses rf (not infrared) to communicate to the hub which means no more pointing the remote looking for a sweet spot). . It is not flawless, but pretty close. My non tech wife is able to use it and only calls me once a month to get it working ; ). The one flaw is sometimes it will not turn on or off the tv. If you have new av equipment that uses wifi, this will communicate with it directly. If you have older stuff, you will need to broadcast an infrared signal from the remote or with a blaster. Since i have my hub by the av equipment in the basement, and the hub is the blaster, i need to send the infrared signal from the remote to turn on the tv. Luckily the remote can send infrared signals directly from the remote, but then you need to point it to the tv, which can cause a non-power on or power off event. .

Logitech Harmony Elite Remote Control, Hub & AppLogitech-Harmony-Elite-Remote-Control

Logitech Harmony Elite Remote Control, Hub App, Works Alexa (915-000256) FAQ.

When turning on the tv, it seems about 1 second slower than the harmony one i had before it. . I bought this to replace my harmony one due to the connection on the back of the previous remote being less able to contact the charging dock. This remote's doc is so much better, but occasionally i have to fiddle to get it to "count" as being in the cradle. . I like that it doesn't need a computer to be updated, but i dislike that it decides to push an update when i am trying to use it to watch tv or a movie (this has happened 3 times, and the update process is not fast (like 3-5 minutes)). . I really wish they would add a voice control to it, or integrate with the echo so i could do voice control that way. With products out offering voice remote services, it would be nice is logitech would get on that. -Notice from J. Jarvis, Georgia

I just replaced a dead harmony 900 with the elite. I loved the harmony 900 but was annoyed with a few things that are fixed with the elite. The 900 would send two clicks instead one for some apps on the roku. You couldn't customize activity images with the 900 and the 900 was fairly large. The 900 was also cumbersome to update on the desktop. Glad to see all that fixed/added with the elite. I never used the keypad so i don't miss it. I rarely watch live tv but when i do, i use the guide to find channels. Also don't miss the dedicated skip buttons. I don't have a need for the hard smart home buttons on the bottom so i wish they were somehow more generic to allow customization that would remotely make sense. Battery doesn't seem to last as long but i put it back in its cradle nearly every night. . Love being able to use my iphone and ipad for updates and customization. The ui is pretty intuitive and with a few exceptions, pretty efficient. I tend to use the remote 99% of the time though during viewing and would prefer an on-screen qwerty keyboard on the remote rather than having to get out my phone if i want to type. . Very happy with this purchase.

- M. RossSo far so good. I upgraded to this remote after my old harmony 900 was finally dropped one too many times. Was happy to see this one had replaced the smaller one, the bulk of our watching is shows on the dvr, and having the ff and rr buttons at the bottom wouldn't have worked for me. Comparing this to the 900 it feels light years ahead, it's more solid and the buttons have a satisfying travel and firm click, they don't have the wiggle to them the 900 had. Setting it up is greatly improved by the new iphone app, but it still seems like syncing settings takes longer than it should. . The setup process through the tutorial was too pinned in for my taste, but the ability to edit inputs etc on the remote after set up to fine tune is great. A little about my set up, i have a samsung tv on the wall of the living room with a sonos playbar under it, a directv genie, xbox one, and av switch for optical from a no name company in the closet in the master bedroom. I've always let the remote use ir for the tv and had the blasters in the closet with the components. The initial setup would not let me set the tv to be controlled by ir, i eventually had to just say it worked and was able to fix it in the remote settings. There were a couple other times where it seemed like i was stuck in a loop and i just had to say ok and start over or fix the details later. . I ran into an issue with the stock "watch netflix" function in that it wanted to use my smart tv netflix and i use netflix on the xbox, once i was eventually able to get the input settings right and add the xbox it still kept the remote in the mode to control the tv and not the xbox, i was unable to find a setting that changed that. I was able to create a custom activity, name it "watch netflix" and use the icon from the large list of icons, so i ended up there, just couldn't use the stock version. I have been very impressed with the remote's ability to control the xbox, i'm not sure if it was how i had it set up or if it was a limitation with the 900, but i always had to turn on the xbox and control it with an xbox controller. I have a toddler, so my xbox is mostly and expensive netflix machine currently, so it's nice to not have to dig up a controller, turn it on, and wake it up if i want to pause a movie 45 minutes in. . There are not dedicated quick skip and back buttons which i use frequently, but you can program the ff and rr (or i guess any other button you wanted) to do the 30 second skip and quick rewind with a short press while living the standard ff and rr functions for a long press. In the limited amount i've used it so far i really like being able to program one button for multiple jobs based on the length of the press. . I have hue lights in the bedroom and living room, it's nice to set it up to dim the lights when you start netflix, but was even better to turn on the bedroom lights and turn off the living room lights when it was time for bed. Once i got my hue scenes synced up it was great to change from normal to my relax evening mode with the remote rather than my phone. . Being able to put custom favorites buttons on the touch screen with their proper icons is a nice touch, not sure how much we'll use it since most of our watching is from the dvr, or just bumming through the guide for something that looks good. When we turn on the tv in the morning or evening we usually start with the local news, so it was nice to be able to have it turn to a specific channel on start up. . The sonos integration is a nice thought, but if you have several rooms with sonos speakers the inability to group on the remote itself, or even in the activity setup without going through the sonos app kills most of it's usefulness. Not sure if that is on sonos of logitech, but hopefully they'll get that worked out in the future. . I have several outlets that control lights that are run from a wink hub, hopefully they'll include wink support soon as all my exterior lights are run that way. . The phone app seems to work well, i don't expect to use it much, why buy a high dollar remote to use an iphone app? it will be nice to have the option though. The one draw back to my set up relying on ir from the remote for the tv is that i won't be able to turn the tv on or off with the phone but can control anything else. . This remote is a great combo of touch screen with physical buttons, the all touch screen remotes require too much looking down for my taste, i like to just pick up the remote and hit the 30 second skip button when a commercial comes on and not having to look for it. If the setup wasn't still clunky and the sonos support was more useful i'd make this 5 stars. Overall no regrets and i hope this harmony will last as long as my last two. . Over a couple days use i've noticed that there is no battery gauge on the screen. We typically only charge our old one when needed so i'm a little annoyed by that. I'm guessing there will at least be a warning, we'll see.

I have owned harmony remotes since forever - since they were numbered rather than named. With multiple tvs in many locations, i have likely owned as many as 10 or 12. . I loved my harmony one and kept it going through a couple of model upgrades. The elite attracted me because of the ir/rf capabilities. With the one, i semi-successfully located my components behind the doors of the base of my wife's cabinetry, but some small problems remained. The elite solved all of my problems. Using the hub, it works perfectly, controlling my cabineted components and sending a ir blast to the tv above my fireplace. The setup procedure is a little more complicated than earlier models, but is worth the effort for more sophisticated control. . Two caveats: 1) buttons on the elite are in slightly different positions than on the one; there is a learning curve, usually in the dark. They are backlit, but the type face is really small. 2) the touchscreen has a serious hair trigger. Picking the elite up or setting it down can cause accidental changes. Again, a learning curve. . Beyond small, surmountable problems, this is a wonderful device, close to perfect more me.

Klipsch R-12SW Subwoofer

This r12 sw is awesome! i replaced a klipsch r8 sw, and the amount of sound i was missing is unbelievable. I reset the bass out of my front towers and separated it to only the sub woofer and completely improved the sound out of the rest of my 7. 1 surround klipsch speakers. Voices are clearer and the sub provides ground shaking, wall rattling sound! increadible!

The reference r-12sw subwoofer uncovers what you've been missing in your music, movies and games - clean chest-thumping bass.  the high performance subwoofer provides deep bass and placement flexibility thanks to its front firing driver and all digital amplifier.

Klipsch R-12sw 12-inch Front-firing 400w Max Subwoofer, Brushed Black Vinyl (Speakers) FAQ.

I have his located in a large room with high open ceilings. This beast sends waves of bass through the entire house and vibrates the furniture. No enhancements through the receiver needed and i don't have the sub tuned to the loudest. Other reviews mention using this in an apartment or split condo. Let's say i wouldn't be happy to be your neighbor - but i would just buy 2 of these to return the favor :). Highly recommend adding this lovely to your system. -Notice from L. Candy, Georgia

Always happy with klipsch products. Being able to adjust the low pass crossover and phase control makes this a great speaker.

- F. CassellaMy last subwoofer was a b&w speaker that looked like a silver death star. It was too powerful for my new home so i gave it to my son and bought the klipsch. I was amazed at the clean bass and power and keep the volume at less than 50% per the speaker test i conducted using a new marantz 7009 receiver. Hookup is easy although the manual is very basic. If you don't have software to adjust the optimal volume of your speakers, you'll need to experiment with volume but that won't take more than a few minutes.

This subwoofer hits hard! exceeds my expectations and sounds amazing. I only have powered at half gain and it's almost too much. My wife hates how intense the bass is which says it all right there fellas!

Mediabridge ULTRA Series Subwoofer Cable 15 Feet - Dual Shielded Gold Plated RCA to RCA Connectors - Black

A while back i bought a rather expensive set of speakers for my home stereo system. Speaker were from the new elac debut series, which included front towers, rear bookshelfs, a center, and of course, a subwoofer. I subsequently added other components and after a while, experienced an annoying hum form the subwoofer. The hum grew louder despite my efforts at rerouting cables and power plugs. Elac subwoofers don't use a three-prong plug and neither does my marantz receiver, so it wasn't a ground fault. I figured it was a interference. I was using half of a stereo rca cable to connect the pre-amp to the sub. I bought a "subwoofer cable" for a comparatively cheap $15 at best buy. Didn't help. Went on online store and found this shielded cable for $10. Problem solved! no hum since. I highly recommend.

Mediabridgetm ultra series subwoofer cable connects a subwoofer speaker to an audio component like a stereo receiver or sound system, while offering excellent bass response & flexibility. This low-loss, wide spectrum coaxial cable is the ideal medium for low-frequency signals produced by subwoofers, providing deep/precise audio quality. Built with a copper clad center conductor, dielectric insulation, aluminum braiding & 2 layers of foil shielding, for natural sounds & rejection of hum/static that occurs when devices are placed near each other. A split-tip center pin ensures high contact pressure & conductivity. Uniquely gripped color-coded molds & corrosion-resistant gold-plated rca connectors provide a consistently tighter fit than commonly rolled cables with wider tolerances. Ultra series cables are made from premium materials for a pro-grade output. This cable is finished in a durable, yet pliable pvc jacket for easy installs. Mediabridge Ultra Subwoofer Cable Feet (cj15 6br g1) FAQ.

Are you particular about your audio gear? you in all likelihood are an audiophile who loves the absolute potential in your music. Well there are two worlds (3 if you pay attention to the third at all) and that is consumer, professional and then flashy. Flashy products are where you spend about 75 percent of the price tag on looks, name and probably a celebrity promotion (beats for instance and any monster product for that matter). I am studying audio engineering and there is only one name all professionals in that field trust and that is mogami. They are the finest, no question, i have taken many apart in my soldering class and professional studio cabling can't be beat but its entirely different as it is all tt, trs, 1/4 inch and xlr jacks. Now what is impossible to find is great consumer cables for when you are running consumer level stuff. I have about 6 of mediabridges products now and this is the final nail in the coffin. Mediabridge have the quality locked on consumer audio cables. I have taken apart a couple of extras i had laying around from a friend and they really do not skimp on any material from the shielding, inner insulation (almost no cables have both) and the copper mixture they use looks very fine and shiny just like the signal i receive. I use my 8th inch /rca cable everywhere and have even torn a pole from so much use! thats from a few years mind you and i was yanking on it anyway so testament to the tension proofing holding up that long. What is so amazing about this cable is that they even design it so you can repair it yourself! amazing! i went in there with some solder and it was like i was looking at a miniaturized version of a trs setup but with all the housings, sheaths and solder cups even! not just some indistinguishable mesh mess of wires designed to make you buy a new cable. Gotta love american products. You want professional studio cables go mogami, everything else mediabridge. . Oh ya and with this particular 'upgrade' my subwoofer now has about an additional 12db of gain and its noise floor has diminished to the point it becomes entirely quiet with high dynamic range tracks. Re-eqing (normally annoying) my entire setup has never been so exciting its like my 12 year old energy 10' has new life again. Thanks mediabridge! -Notice from S. Reed, Milton Keynes

I bought this cable because my old cable was feeding a steady 60 hz hum to my subwoofer from surrounding electrical cords. It had rendered the subwoofer unusable, and i had to leave it turned off. I plugged in this cable, turned it back on, and there was absolutely no hum remaining. Nada. . This is a 15-foot long cable, and it runs through a small hole in the back of my entertainment center in close proximity to a lot of other cables, including the power cable for my receiver. It hovers above my surge protector and parallels numerous other cables on the way to the subwoofer. Still, no hum.

Mediabridge-ultra-subwoofer-cable-feet-(cj15-6br-g1) set picture

- M. GarnerThis cable was purchased so i could move my sub further away for a better sound and better looks. The cable is very high quality and the gold plated ends prevent corrosion. A great product and a more than fair price!

Man, my subwoofer want to woof. It wants to bark, howl, shake, shimmy, and woof loud and deep, fillin' the room kinda woofin'. It wants you to believe the world is ending, the robots are coming, along with the zombies and the aliens and all that stuff. . Until last week, this was not a problem. My 70" lcd tv was held by a home-made shelf. Not even a good one, but one i hacked together in a night for the previous tv, a 71" dlp. But lo, come black friday, i spy's me a manufacturered shelf, something large and metal and chinese and not even slightly as ugly as mine, at a good price. It's been nine years of that "just until the shelf arrives" home-spun unit (the original shelf was discontinued). . But alas, no room for my subwoofer under that shelf. And the glass shelves might not have played nice with my subwoofer, either. So i relocates it to the side of the media equipment plaza in my media room. It very quickly becomes apparent that my wife does not approve of the new location of my subwoofer. . The mediabridge 15 foot cable arrived today to save the day. Just in time, too, given that "the wolverine", in blu-ray, has been sitting on my kitchen table for day. You know that's got some woofin' inside. This cable will allow me to relocate my subwoofer to the other side of the media plaza, where my wife's view of it will be blocked. Out of site, sure, but she'll know it's there. Boy howdy will she know it's there.

The F.A.Q. for marantz sr5011 7.2 channel network audio/video surround receiver with bluetooth

I purchased the sr5011 primarily since it can switch 4k hdr sources and provide good, clean sound. I've tested it with the xbox one s and ps4 pro. Switching these 4k hdr sources has been flawless, and the receiver plays nicely with my samsung ks8000. I use it to drive nht bookshelf speakers and a powered polk sub. . Pros:. - 8 hdmi inputs and two hdmi outputs, all supporting the latest hdmi standards. - features a game mode to disable adding input lag. - supports dts:x and dolby atmos. - good 1080p upscaler, great for legacy sources like wii connected over component video. - spotify connect is a convenient feature and normally works. - audyssey integration is good. - excellent sound quality, including good quality through connected headphones. . Cons:. - bundled remote feels cheap and isn't ergonomic. - 4k upscaler is not worth using-causes bad input lag and is capped at 30 fps. - the marantz app is extraordinarily buggy and barely or oftentimes completely nonfunctional. - no decoder specifically for dolby pro logic ii. - no power outlets on the back for plugging in a sub to automatically turn off. - volume knob lacks a premium feel. - can t use both rear surrounds and up-firing/ceiling speakers simultaneously; limited to 5. 1. 2 or 7. 1 configurations, no 7. 1. 2 with this model. - requires an external pre-amp for anyone interested in connecting a turntable. - gui is not presented in high resolution, looks blurry. . Most of the cons above are nitpicks. Overall the sr5011 is excellent, especially since it has worked out very well for gaming and provides no hiccups when switching between 4k hdr sources. Sound quality does not disappoint.

Very easy to setup and use. Sounds great. Really love that it interfaces so well with my amp. On the face it's clean and unimposing. However when using it to control the volume while watching tv, it throws up a dialog status bar on the tv screen that is very large and solid. I would like to see a firmware update that tones that screen down to at least a simple bar with some level of transparency. . Update: this week marantz released a firmware update with allows me to turn off the volume display. Most appreciated! i've been using the device for quite some time and have no complaints. Updates are certainly a great feature to have for just this reason. It extends the life and capabilities as needed. In fact the simple font display makes this even more possible since there are no fixed icons to be concerned about. Well done. Btw the update was absolutely painless. It auto downloaded and prompted me to apply the update if i like. Once i gave it the ok, it was down for about 20 minutes and a couple reboots without any intervention on my part. Perfect

Replaced a $2, 600 rotel integrated amp because i upgraded the tv to 4k. I decided to try this before spending the money on another rotel. I am sold on marantz. Can't tell any difference in power or sound quality (both are rated at 100w/channel). The onscreen user interface is light years ahead of the older rotel's. Very easy setup. Sounds great with svs ultra towers, center, and sb16 sub. Can't give it 5 stars since it sometimes has issues getting a signal from my oppo disc player (have to power off/on).

I've only had this receiver for a week, but i'm very impressed sp far. It sounds great on both music and movies, upgrades the sound of mp3 files, and looks a lot more expemsive than it is.
